ZPC, Platinum share spoils

HARARE - FC Platinum coach Lloyd Mutasa rued his side's missed chances following their goalless draw against ZPC Kariba in a Castle Premiership match here on Wednesday.

Mutasa’s men looked to be in control of the game especially in the second half, but they failed to find the net prompting their gaffer to rue his blunt strike force.

“It was a closely contested affair but we failed to utilize our chances which came on our way, we must work on our finishing,” Mutasa said after the match.

"We can't afford to keep on dropping points and our next game will be a must a win for us. We are not, however, putting ourselves under pressure.

“We were in control of the match and we missed chances that could have seen us go ahead.”

ZPC Kariba coach Saul Chaminuka was happy with the result and praised his team for good performance

“I think we have too much travel, and it will affect players but we played very well and I want to thank my boys for the performance,” said Chaminuka.

"We will take each game as it comes and we now concentrating with our next game against Triangle which is also a good team so we will not underrate them. Our aim this season is to survive relegation and so far I am happy with the performance of the boys.”

ZPC Kariba started the livelier of the two teams and could have surged ahead as early as in the 15th minute but Dennis Daudi’s shot went wide.

During the second half, the visitors took control of the game with Michelle Katsvairo causing all sorts of problems for the ZPC defence.

The visitors continued to pile the pressure but were found wanting in the final third.
