Robertson, Chitokwindo join OH

HARARE - Champions Old Hararians have been bolstered by the return to competitive rugby of gifted back Danny Robertson, who joins alongside Zimbabwe wing Tafadzwa Chitokwindo.

Robertson, who did not play rugby the whole of last year, had made the Zimbabwe fullback position his own before taking a sabbatical from the game.

His return will also delight Sables coach Brendan Dawson, who will guide the team at the crucial World Cup qualification tournament in Madagascar in July.

OH coach Cyprian Mandenge will also welcome at the Green Machine Zimbabwe Fifteens and Sevens flyer Chitokwindo, who was named Sportsman of the Year at South Africa’s Rhodes University last year.

Robertson and Chitokwindo will however have to wait a little longer to play in the National Rugby League (NRL) after OH were given a bye on the opening week of action tomorrow.

In other transfer news, last season’s finalists Old Georgians have added to their squad 2013 Craven Week stars Jabulani Mutukwa and fellow speedster Brendon Boshi alongside Zimbabwe Under1-9 skipper Sebastian Roche and loose forward Ivan Bawden.

OGs open against Mutare Sports Club at Harare Sports club tomorrow while HSC will take on Zvishavane Bulls in the main game of the afternoon at the same venue.

In Bulawayo, Old Miltonians and Western Panthers clash at Hartsfield with Matabeleland Warriors taking on Gweru Sports Club.
