Ufic in massive Judgement Night drive

HARARE - Traffic came to a standstill in Harare’s central business district as thousands of people from United Family International Church (UFIC) thronged the streets in a road show to promote the Judgement Night prayer session to be held on April 19.

Cheering crowds, clad in white T-shirts that were inscribed with the Judgement Night’s theme, marched along Samora Machel Avenue and assembled at Africa Unity Square.

People were encouraged to prepare and attend the night of prayer in their numbers.

The event ended by a clean-up campaign of Harare’s streets.

The prayer session  to be held at National Sports Stadium is expected to attract more than 150 000 people, including foreigners.

Church leader Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa, (pictured) a popular preacher with a huge following throughout the country and on the continent, announced at a recent church service that this year’s Judgement Night would surpass the previous one held two years ago.

The UFIC leader said this would be a ground-breaking session which he believes would bring in new developments in a country battered by acute economic difficulties.

Last year, Judgement Night was cancelled at the last minute after administrators of the venue drilled holes in Makandiwa’s plans by making too many demands which the church could not meet.

Completely useless activities that will drive the nation backwards. Instad of pushing for real change that will generate employment this church industry that is mashrooming everywhere will not bring anything. It is a sad story of a dying nation.
