Freeman to perform in Australia

HARARE - Freeman, whose album New Chapta was voted the Best Dancehall Album for 2013 at the end of last month, is off to Australia for an April 19 show in the city of Perth.

The dancehall star, who was born Emegy Sylvester Chizanga, believes the award he won on March 28, will spur him on to raise his act during the tour in Australia.

“The award has come at a time when l am preparing for the tour in Australia. I promise to deliver my best to my fans there and I dedicate this award to them,” he told the Daily News.

The Joina City singer is not new to foreign tours. He has performed in the United Kingdom and South Africa several times in the last three years.

Beauty ‘DJ Bimma’ Mufamba, who is Freeman’s international manager, confirmed the pending tour from her United Kingdom base.

“It is true Doctor (Freeman) has a show in Australia .Everything is now in place to make the show a success,” said DJ Bimma.

The Australian tour comes at a time Freeman’s DangerZone music stable is celebrating Zim Dancehall 2013 awards won by Crystal, JC, Lady Squanda and music producer Sunshine.
