British national accused of rape

HARARE - A British national reportedly lured a 19-year old woman to his residence and raped her after lying to her that he wanted to embark on a clothing business partnership with her.

Khwaja Hisha, 32, of Number 17 Cosmos Avenue, Ridgeview in Harare appeared before Harare magistrate Vakayi Chikwekwe on Friday charged with rape.

He was remanded to May 12 on $1 000 bail.

Hisha was ordered to surrender his travel documents, reside at his given address and not interfere with state witnesses.

Prosecutor Tungamirai Chakurira alleged that on March 23 this year, Hisha approached the woman at her Marlborough residence around 7pm, saying he wanted to partner with her in a clothing business.

Hisha reportedly drove the woman to his residence in Belvedere, where he claimed he wanted to show her the clothing samples.

Hisha, the court heard,  led the woman into his house but did not show her the samples as promised.

He allegedly showed her the clothing samples on his cellphone instead.

It is State’s case that Hisha started caressing the complainant until he forced himself on her.

The woman reported the matter to the police and was referred for medical examination.

A medical report confirmed that there was penetration.
