Warriors drop on Fifa rankings

HARARE - Zimbabwe slumped by two places on the latest Fifa/Coca-Cola rankings released on Thursday.

The Warriors, who were ranked 100 last month, are now on number 102 in the world and 28th in Africa.

Zimbabwe’s only match since their fairytale run at the Chan finals in South Africa was against Malawi in an international friendly, which the Warriors comfortably won 4-1.

However, that result seems to have had little effect on their rankings as Malawi is ranked below Zimbabwe on number 114.

Ivory Coast remained on pole position in Africa and has dropped one place in the World to position 24. Algeria, Egypt, Cape Verde Islands and Ghana complete the top five on the continent.

World and European champions Spain lead an unchanged top three that also include Germany, Argentina, Portugal and Columbia.
