Bev ventures into gospel music

HARARE - Beverly Sibanda, who recently quit pole dancing after joining Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries led by Walter Magaya, is working on a gospel album.

The former leader of the Sexy Angels dancing group ventured into music last year with a secular debut album called Tapinda before joining PHD.

Bev officially opening her clothes shop recently.

Bev told the Daily News yesterday that her second album will reflect her new status as a born-again Christian.

“I will always be an artiste because I was born to be one,” said Bev.

“Since I am now a Christian, my second album will be a gospel one. I have discussed the idea of venturing into gospel music with prophet Magaya and I have been given the go-ahead.”

Bev, whose song Tshaingoma featuring South African artiste Freddy Gwala made it into last year’s National FM Top 50, admits that walking away from the secular arts has not been easy.

“It was very difficult for me to abandon the stage for the church but through prayers from Prophet Magaya I have managed to conquer. God had plans for me and so I had no choice but to comply,” she said

“In the beginning, whenever I heard my music being played in public places, I always wondered if quitting music was the right thing but thanks to God I have finally managed to pull through,” she said.

The former dancer is confident that she will eventually become a gospel music great.

“It is my wish to make a very big impact in gospel music. I left the dancing world as the country’s best and am sure God will help me become the best in Zimbabwean gospel music.”

Bev, who is currently running a clothing shop in Harare which was given to her by Magaya, expects her yet-to-be-named album to be released this year.

Ha,ha madam. But God has nothing to do with your venture into this lucrative market of gospel music.No.Passage of time and the steady onset of old age is sending running of a safe niche.Who in his right mind wants to to see the stringy thighs and sagging buttocks of a masgogo?

People like it when one does what they want which is not always the right things, when one chooses the right path now it becomes bad. Before you start talking about someone's road to salvation it is always important to check where you stand on this grace issue.

Leave Bev alone. She has chosen God's ways and lets encourage her. She is a new creation and that is good enough to see her get things right in her life.

even Rebecca Malope used to sing secular music but she reformed and now she is a gospel great

I think time is no more because the Spirit of God is now calling people in the street and by-ways, bidding them to the supper. Anyone is now entering grace. This is a grand time now. If you are saved maintain your salvation the Bev way rather than playing self-righteousness macho-gig. If you bogged to your creeds and dogmas you are left out and behind. Byee bye vatsvene venyika.

Bev has received the gospel of Jesus .DONT JUDGE HER. It is between her and JEHOVAH. Remember RAHAB ,Paul, Zaccheus etc. God is a merciful GOD. HE DOESNT WANT MANKIND TO PERISH.

Salvation is a process. Once you are saved, you need time for God to work in you. We must never rush into things. We must allow God to move in our lives. Our God takes His time. Its best to stay away from the things of the world. Remember they are the same things that had once held you bond. Stay away. God will take care of you.

Don't judge her too harshly. Remember the story of the prostitute who washed Jesus' feet with her tears and annointed his feet with perfume. He who has had a greater debt forgiven will show more gratitude. I cannot speak for whether Magaya is a false prophet or not but do not judge Bev on what she did lat year. Judge her on what she is doing now.
