Corrupt officers should be dealt with

EDITOR — Recently, concern has been raised over the huge police presence along our roads.

The road that has one of the biggest numbers of traffic police is along Chiremba Road where one always finds not less than three roadblocks or police checks most of the time.

We have police officers from different stations such as Hatfield, Domboramwari and others operating on this road.

As a result, it takes one an hour to get from Epworth to town yet it’s only about 20km.

This leaves a lot to be desired because when one visits other areas like Greencroft, there is little to no traffic police on their roads on the way there.

The level of corruption by traffic police on this route is unheard of as the route has many transport operators plying it.

I call upon the powers that be to act swiftly on these corrupt activities.

This is one problem that can be solved easily by paying the police a reasonable salary and imposing strict control from the top Policeman to the lower ranks.
