Doctors deserve better wages

EDITOR — I was shocked yesterday when I read the your paper and learnt that junior doctors are earning $283 per month which is way below the poverty datum  line.

I really think something should be done to ensure that doctorsget better wages.

The government claims there is no money but funny enough, recently, two big occasions where held to ‘celebrate’ yet sdoctors who play a huge part in ensuring that people get the medical attention they require get an egg in their face.

No wonder why doctors, nurses and other caregivers are now working lackadaisically.

Some doctors are opening their own surgeries in search of greener  pastures because $283 dollars is peanuts considering the nature of their job and the risk involved.

One can not perform well when they are getting peanuts, no wonder why many lives are being lost due to negligence. Moreso, I think all civil servants deserve  better wages to motivate them to work harder.
