US Embassy condemns Budiriro attack

HARARE - The US Embassy yesterday condemned incidents of politically-motivated violence that have occurred in Harare.

In a statement released yesterday, the American embassy noted media reports on the attack on Rodrick Dzapasi 44, who is Zanu PF cell chairman for Tabudirira District in Budiriro by alleged MDC supporters.

Dzapasi sustained a deep cut on the head and a swollen leg after the assault. He said he was attacked by youths loyal to opposition leader  Morgan Tsvangirai, who was holding a rally in the same Budiriro neighbourhood. The US embassy said: “We condemn such acts of violence, which have no place in modern political discourse.

“We enjoin all parties to respect the rule of law, freedom of assembly and the right to free speech, which should be the hallmarks of a modern, democratic Zimbabwe.  We call on all parties to protect victims of violence and to prevent future acts of violence.”

Now this is unbiased, good reporting. The Herald woudn't publish news that is anti-Zanu PF. The private media has been said it is pro-MDC, anti-Zanu PF. Some have just been proven wrong here...

Violence should be condemned whenever it occurs. Can the MDC-T be allowed to hold rallies in Muzarabani, Uzumba-Marambapfungwe etc without any backlash to its supporters in those areas if Zanu pf appears to be a saint. Lets try it since they appear to be converted so that this point is proven.

Zimbabwe does not look to the MDC-T's liberalism, but to its strengths. The issues of the day will not be decided by the Herald or the NewsDay, but by blood, iron, violence. These are the tools that will remove Zanu PF from power. In any case who still wants Zanu PF in Zimbabwe, a party which has brought down a whole nation into the bottomless pit. Down with mugabe and his party and his wife and his wife and his children and his son inlaw and his dogs. Bring them down, whether through guns, negotiations or democracy does not really matter. What matters is that these idiots are down.
