Cara, Mirza out of Dubai Open

HARARE - Zimbabwean tennis ace Cara Black and her Indian partner Sania Mirza bowed out of the ongoing Dubai Open tournament in a hard-fought women's doubles first round match.

Mirza and Black were defeated by Czech Republic's Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Safarova 7-6, 5-7, 1-0 (11-9).

The fourth-seeded Indo-Zimbabwean combination were hoping to capture their first title this year after they failed at the just ended Qatar Total in Doha on Friday, crushing out in the quarter finals.

In another match played yesterday, Italy's Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci eased to the next round after beating Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Nadia Petrova 6-4, 6-4.

The winners at the tournament will take home $71,820 while the losing finalists will pocket $37,801 305.
