Beefy salutes How Mine

HARARE - How Mine coach Philani “Beefy” Ncube has hailed his side’s commitment and determination after Chikurupati progressed to the first round of the African Confederations Cup at the weekend.

The Mbada Diamonds finalists, who were playing in their first ever continental assignment, won the first leg 4-0 in Bulawayo last week before beating Chuoni FC 2-1 in Zanzibar to advance to the next round 6-1 aggregate.

Ncube’s men will now meet St Michel of Seychelles in the first round. St Michel beat Madagascar’s ASSM Elgeco Plus over the two legs.

Speaking shortly after their arrival from Zanzibar, Ncube was quick to add that work will start in earnest ahead of the next game.

“I am very delighted that we are through to the next round. We have shown that we are prepared for this tournament and I thank my boys for a job well done,” Ncube said.

“We will now look ahead to the next game and preparations will start right away because our aim is to qualify to the mini-league. I am happy we achieved our objective. The victory belongs to the boys and we are looking forward to go far. It was a beautiful victory.”
