Zim cricketers strike again

HARARE - Zimbabwe cricketers have gone on strike again after the failure by Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) to pay outstanding salaries and allowances.

The domestic Twenty20 competition which was scheduled to start this morning with a match between Mashonaland Eagles and Midwest Rhinos was called off without a ball bowled.

ZC had promised to pay the players, who had been on strike since December last year, their outstanding dues by today after receiving a $3m loan from the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Players’ representative Eliah Zvimba will address a press conference shortly.
