'Chinese in criminal sabotage'

HARARE - William Mutomba, the Zanu PF MP for Buhera North,  has castigated the indigenisation policy arguing that it needs to be revised as it was benefiting foreigners.

Mutomba made the remarks in the National Assembly while debating the Presidential speech.

He said Chinese and Indian business persons who are operating in Zimbabwe have taken over all business space that has been a preserve of indigenous locals.

“We have Indians and Chinese in the informal sectors, they are coming here to milk us”, Mutomba said.

“A lot of people, including myself, have been pushed out of business by these people.  I went to the Chinese City near National Sports Stadium and I entered two shops which are selling Chinese products and a few Zimbabweans products.

“I also wonder whether these Chinese have bank accounts here, maybe they are shipping the money they are making in this country to their country. This is criminal sabotage to the nation.”

China has become one of the major investors in the country for the past decade after Zimbabwe fell out with Western countries.

All the money made by Chinese in Zimbabwe is invested in UK and USA. Thats how canning these people are. Zimbabwe will benefit nothing except donations of worthless nice things to those in office and allowing Chinese to milk our people

So much for never being a colony again. We are being exploited by these people who look down on us in the process. It's a pity Kasukuwere has been moved as he oversaw the so called indigenisation program which hasn't benefited the ordinary person. Come on you ZPF supporters surely you can see what is going on yet you do nothing. At least your legislators are seeing the light.

Mutomba, you are Zanu pf, but what you highlighted is the most sensible thing ever said by a zpf members since the unearthing & publication of massive looting of state enterprises by zpf cronies. I pray that God keep giving you the power to tout as loudly as you can so that your colleages see sense.

they bring in goods in containers and cargo planes worth $2000 (declare what they want to zimra) and they clean the cash and repatriate a million dollars- we remain with no cash in our societies. somehow we still believe these are our friends-------lets think beyond now- what kind of a future are we creating for the next zimbabwe generation. your offspring will also be in that environment and having to deal with the mess you are creating now- unless you send them to the west?
