Cac condemns Chombo's interference on Mahachi

EDITOR — Coalition Against Corruption (Cac) the leading anti corruption organisation in Zimbabwe strongly condemns the reinstating of Harare town clerk,Tendai Mahachi by minister Ignatius Chombo.

The move by Chombo is naive and mischievous to say the least given that the town clerk was being investigated following the hefty salary scandal which showed the latter earning an outrageous salary whilst Harare residents are struggling to get a better service delivery at their doorsteps.

Cac is greatly concerned by minister Chombo’s actions as they jeopardise the promoting of accountability and transparency among local authorities.

Again Cac and the people of Zimbabwe have it on record that minister Chombo was once fingered in serious corruption scandals, and at one time, he was supposed to be probed by Parliament but nothing has been done.

Hence Cac demands that Chombo should desist from protecting individuals since this raises eyebrows.

For the record, ratepayers and the people of Zimbabwe aren’t fools and one day the corrupt and greedy shall be brought to book and face the full wrath of the law.

Lets reject greediness and looting in local authorities.
