Man up for murdering girlfriend

BULAWAYO - A 27-year-old Nyamandlovu man has landed in court facing allegations of murdering his girlfriend.

Nkosana Dube appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Abednico Ndebele facing charges of murder and was remanded in custody to February 10.

It is alleged that on an unknown date, Dube approached his 27-year-old girlfriend Brenda Zulu over an unresolved issue.

The court heard he used an unknown object to butcher her after which he tied Zulu’s hands and legs with strips of cloth and dumped her body in the bush.

The body was later found by neighbours who reported the matter to the police, leading to Dube’s arrest.
The court further heard that prior to her disappearance, Zulu had informed her friend, Loveletter Ncube that Dube wanted to assault her.

Neighbours claimed that they had seen Dube putting on a sun hat which was found at the scene where the body was discovered.

Police also discovered one of his shorts stained with blood.

Zulu however, told the magistrate that he was not feeling well and needed to see a doctor because police officers assaulted him in a bid to get him to confess.

The magistrate then ordered the police to take him to a prison doctor for treatment.
