Govt must audit all parastatals now

EDITOR — I wonder why the government seem to be taking a laid back approach to these insensitive salaries that are being earned by chief executive officers in parastals.

Why cant our incompetent government institute a thorough audit of all the parastatals and ministries and get to the bottom of these endless salary scams.

The PSMAS and ZBC salary scams could be just the tip of the iceberg.

What proof or evidence do we have as citizens of this country that the salaries for these executives were cut or these are just media reports?

If a mere CEO can get away with earning almost a quarter of a million what more can a minister earn in this not-so-sincere government?

This lack of serious action on these shady pay packages as well as the lack of seriousness in weeding out corruption by this government clearly shows the deep-rootedness of this vice.

It is as if all of them are involved in one scam or the other that they fear exposing or nailing one another.

A nation so endowed with many natural resources has nothing to show for it except the silent wailings of over two million starving people.

Why this silence on this blatant corruption?

The Anti Corruption Commission was set up but was never funded to fufill its mandate, why this reluctance to fight this scourge?

We need some serious answers not these face-saving ,smokescreen land baron scams inquiries.

The government must show its seriousness and all these parastatals audited as a matter or urgency.

Happisun,

Happisun your answer lies within your question - 'incompetent government' Be reasonable how you expect incompetents to do the right thing? Quite a good article otherwise
