15 urban groove artists meet

HARARE - Urban grooves music acts will meet tomorrow, Wednesday in what will be a clash of stars as the gig brings together the cream in the genre.

A total of 15 urban grooves music acts, among them some dancehall artistes will set Harare’s City Sports Bar alight with varying sounds.

The line-up includes Maskiri, Trevor Dongo, Roki, Madiz, Victor D, Jah Love, Taurai Mandebvu, Lady Gaza, Tawanda Mugodhi, Junior Spice and several others.

A spokesperson for the joint said the concert will open the year 2014 and promises to be a night of sounds.

“These musicians have new songs which they hope will open 2014 and we are giving them the space to showcase their talents. While we have 15 confirmations, we are open to more artistes as we try to promote the genre.”

He said the Urban Grooves slot was popular last year.

“Last year we used to run the Urban Grooves night which was so popular and always registered full houses. We are therefore reviving the night as last year it proved to be the meeting point for upcoming and established urban Groove artistes.”
