'Ncube's MDC bankrupt'

HARARE - The sun is setting on Welshman Ncube’s political life as his smaller MDC party is collapsing due to bankruptcy.

A senior party member based in Bulawayo told the Daily News that all was not well in the party.

“I think the end is nigh for some of us,” said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity. Remember, we have closed most of our provincial offices and now some workers have been retrenched.”

The party, which is hamstrung by insolvency, closed provincial offices in Bulawayo, Matabeleland North, Midlands North, Midlands South, Masvingo, Mashonaland West and Manicaland.

“Now we have been told to pull our personal resources together to ensure the survival of the party,” said the official.

“We were told that if we don’t fund our own party, it is going to die. People do not have the money and the situation is bad.

“The party’s leader, Ncube, is nowhere to be seen. Since the electoral loss, we have never held any National Council (meeting). Also, we suspended all programmes.”

All has not been well for the party, since the party’s devastating electoral= loss last year.

The party performed dismally during the July harmonised polls, losing monumentally to Zanu PF and its leader Robert Mugabe.

It lost all the nine Parliamentary seats that it had and picked up a seat under proportional representation in the National Assembly.

To add salt to injury, Qhubani Moyo, former policy director, who penned the electoral manifesto, resigned, saying he was going back to academics.

Kurauone Chihwayi, MDC deputy spokesperson, refuted claims that his party was bankrupt.

“We are financially sound and I don’t know what you are talking about,” Chihwayi said.

When asked why the party is not carrying out any programmes, he retorted: “We are reorganising and restrategising. As from month end you will see action.

“We have programmes lined up. Yes, we were affected by the electoral loss but we know it was the first half and the second half is coming in 2018. Therefore we are now preparing for the second half.”

However, the party failed to field candidates for the council by-elections scheduled for Saturday.

Again, Chihwayi downplayed this development, insisting that the failure to field candidates was due to the fact that the party’s candidates missed the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission deadline to file papers.

The three local authority by-elections are scheduled for Harare, Karoi and Zaka.

Prof Ncube broke away from Tsvangirayi because Ncube felt that he was better educated than Tsvangirayi, but this better education does not attract voters to Ncube, voters will vote for Tsvangirayi because he appeals to those who are poor. Poor people do not like these professors because professors are too smug and pompous and think that they are better than the less educated povo of Zim.

@Commo No wonder you were whitewashed by the gukurahundis in the July 2013 elections; you have such short memories. You dont even know who broke away from whom, between Tswangirayi and Ncube. Tsvangirayi broke away from the MDC over his NEC electoral loss. Reread his statements man - cant you google? This is why initially a lot of senior people were with Ncube. The only reason Tsvangirayi prevailed is simply because he was more popular at the grass roots level than Ncube; besides the Shona tribalism that also played its part. Many of those who were initially with Ncube eventually joined Tsvangirayi. This is why Tsvangirayi failed to restle the MDC name from Welshman - he was at fault; not Ncube. Its just his tribe and numbers that eventually favoured him. Now that the dust is settled, the tribalist boolfrog is headed for the dustbins with all the women he has accumulated since the death of his wife Susan - and thats good news indeed!!

The split of the MDC was engineered by ZANUPF with the help of Thabo Mbeki. Welshman Ncube was part of the grand strategy. All these tribal issues being paddled are just part of the muddying of the waters so that people don't know what happened. The question is has ZANUPF succeeded? The jury is still out and they know that too. The voter has the final say in all this and the published results of July 31 bear no resemblance to what is on the ground. Just look at the panic in Nathaniel Manheru's rants. Just check the pretence at ridding the country of corruption. Too little too late. ZANUPF can never win a free and fare election. They know it. They know we know it. They know that we know that they know it too.

KKKKKKK, haiya. People like Phunyukabemphethe have an incurable mental disability of tribal thinking, as evidenced by their self abuse in thinking that it is MDC-T that split from Welshman Ncube's MDC. As to who they hope to convince, I wonder. May be if they have audience with Ingutsheni inmates. and I say may be because most of those mentally unsound people at Ingutsheni can reason much better than the welshsman Ncube folk. For you to have better comparison let me give you facts: In Ncube we have a man a lawyer, who is so intellectually compromised to the extent of believing that being educated is a licence for political office. This caused him to bring Mutambara. But Ncube was also naively cunning - he then tried to eject Mutambara and anoint himself king of MDC. The intellectually bankrupt Ncube concluded he is marvellously popular, by reading on the few seats his party got from Mat South. He thinks they are enough for him to make a grant decision to get top post because Mutambara is not Ndebele. Naturally Mutambara resisted and Ncube became a mockery by even monkeys that are trying to met. His stupidity also stems from his obdurate belief that everything in life has to do with law. He took Misihairabwi, a lawyer, to the seat of Mat South in Senate. But now, even the people of Mat South have tried to get him disabused by making see that law is not the best profession that life has ever made. He is now in hibernation. However, by even looking at his face, voice and lame smiles, it is quite very clear that the man is a striking example of a character who is severely compromised in terms of thinking and leadership. One can only follow him when one is ready to die of stress and disgrace, since you will always be a mockery, even among inmates of institutions like Ingutsheni, Ngomahuru, and Zimcare. Well, I understand that the Ndebele people need a leader to replace J Nkomo, but please were you so desperate?

Phunyukabemphethe is an unrepentent tribalist. He hates anything that is not Ndebele. But unfortunately for him he will die a very bitter man because Zimbabweans can smell a tribalist a thousand kilometers away and will never associate themselves with such gabbage. Nxa ulenkani buza idonki eqhulayo eyathi abantu bezizweni ngama totemless idiots. Noone of foreign descent will ever vote for the limping old donkey.
