Marriage broken over electricity bill

HARARE - A marriage has been broken after a couple exchanged harsh words over an electricity bill.

Moleen Togara reportedly threw her husband Fungai Nyamasvisva out of the house after he failed to pay electricity bills.

Nyamasvisva dragged Togara before the Harare Civil Court seeking a peace order against her.

He told magistrate Tafadzwa Muvhami that Togara threw his belongings out of the house before chasing him away.

“My wife threw me out of the house and I am applying for a peace order and to be allowed to go back to my house. She threw away my belongings,” complained Nyamasvisva.

Togara did not deny her husband’s allegations but said they had an argument which prompted her to chase him away.

“That is not the issue, we had a dispute about electricity bills after he failed to foot the bill and rebuked each other.I did it out of anger but I no longer love him,” said Togara.

“All I want is for him to stay out of my house, you can give him the peace order,” she said.

Magistrate Muvhami granted the peace order.
