Banks must give depositors their money

EDITOR — I feel really concerned with the trouble that has besieged banks once again in this country.

We are once again seeing many depositors trying to get their money from these troubled banks, resulting in long queues and depositors queueing for days to get a fraction of their deposit.

I think the banks should be honest enough to at least give the depositors their money and not let their money be locked up under curatorship that sometimes takes years to resolve and all their money is sometimes not recovered.

The banks should be honest enough to let the depositors know and inform them in advance if they see that their business is going into the red.

Most people in Zimbabwe  are already suffering due to meagre salaries and are failing to provide adequately for their families.

It is unfair for depositors to find out from the press that the bank has closed or is having problems.

The Bible says give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, banks should give depositors their money.
