We can move mountains

EDITOR — The Bible says in 1Peter 5:8, “ Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”

The word alert was used appropriately and it means to be quick to notice a potentially dangerous situation. The danger being, the devil who is prowling around seeking whom he might devour.

The best defence is a good offence.

You cannot wait for the devil to strike you, attack him first.

He devours your finances, marriage, life, happiness etcetera, virtually everything. Some people don’t know that the devil is attacking them because they have never lived the life they were meant to live.

They don’t know that they are poor and feel “okay” because they have never been allowed to enjoy their life of wealth and prosperity.  Pray for your partner, your wife or husband so that they do not fall prey to the enemy’s attacks. Mark 11:23, says “ Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain,

‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.” See that this is a principle that works for anyone regardless or calling, creed or origin. The Bible says you have to believe in your own words and not doubt them.

Understand this, there are some people who doubt even themselves, they do not believe in who they are and what they can do rather they believe the lies that people who want to pull them down say to them.

Some times we speak to the situation confronting us and then doubt, the moment we doubt it is reversed.

Doubting is like attempting to do something on the computer but instead of clicking save you click undo.

It erases everything. There are stages that you need to master in order to effectively fight the devil.

Stage one; Think.

The Bible says as a man thinks so is he (Proverbs 23:7). The real breakthrough will come to you when you reform your mindset.

You have to think the mind of God. The spiritual is more real than the physical.

The physical came from the spiritual. Understand that your thoughts have an ability to affect your life. In fact you can never achieve anything beyond what you imagine.

The situation in your life may be a result of your thoughts.

That is why we say, attitude determines altitude.

Stage two is speaking. You have to speak that which you believe that is why the Bible says, out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

This is what we call talking meditation.

You speak and think about it as you speak.

As you talk the mind of God you recreate the situation that should prevail in your life, after all everything that we see around us came into existence as a result of speaking.

God spoke and it existed.

The third and most important stage of your life is doing.

This is the action part.

When the other two stages (thinking and speaking) are done thoroughly, you then act.

The earth will eventually respond to you. If you discipline your mind and heart you can speak to nature and it will respond to you. Jesus spoke to the fig tree and it withered.

That is how you fight the Holy war you do not fall down on your knees and beg God to do it for you.

Address the situation and it will respond accordingly.

Study the ministry of Jesus and observe that at all times he addressed the situation, (when he raised John, the son of the widow of Nain, Jairos’ daughter etcetera). But do not talk on the day of trouble, practise over time and gain confidence.

Know that if you think about this long enough, speak it long enough and become obsessed with this teaching no mountain (tough situation) will stand in your way. Believe it.

this is beautiful but without faith it doesnt work. The foundation of faith is knowledge of the Word which will bring Mk 11:23 to work. How can it work if we have pockets of capsules in our drawers, medical aid schemes and funeral policies. One can say 'even if you are a christian you will still die'.Then Mk 11 is not for you because one time Enock walked with God and did not die so shall be those who believe 1 Thes 4:15-17.
