It's not yet over — Beke

BULAWAYO - Highlanders acting coach Bekithemba Ndlovu believes Bosso still have a chance of lifting the Castle Premiership title despite trailing log leaders Harare City by two points with a single match left to play in the season.

The curtain comes down on Zimbabwe’s top-flight league this Sunday, and City will go into weekend’s action sitting at the apex of the log with 53 points, while second-placed Dynamos and third-placed Highlanders are tied on 51.

Highlanders will play host to Shabanie Mine at Barbourfields Stadium and Ndlovu says the Bulawayo giants are focused on getting a positive result.

“We are focused on winning our last match and finishing the league programme on a high,” Ndlovu told the Daily News yesterday.

“The players also believe that the chances are still there for us to win the championship and everyone agrees that the race is not over yet and we have to win our match at all costs.”

The former Zimbabwe defender said a lot could still happen on the last day of the season and therefore it would be folly for his team to throw in the towel ahead of the final match of the season.

“It will only be over after 90 minutes on Sunday and before that we have to keep believing because this has been a season that has been full of twists and turns. So a lot could happen on the last day of the season.”

Meanwhile, Highlanders are likely to be missing defender Dumisani Ndlovu, who is still to recover from the injury he picked up in Bosso’s Mbada Diamonds Cup semi-final victory over Harare City a fortnight ago while striker Gabriel Nyoni will also be unavailable due to college commitments.

Shabanie are in seventh position on the log and will be aiming to secure a top eight finish.
