Christmas story to be retold at Celebration Centre

HARARE - Celebration Ministries is set to perform a theatrical Christmas musical production called Christmas Foretold at the end of the month, at the Celebration Centre in Borrowdale.

The November 28 event portrayal of the birth of Jesus Christ will feature music by Bonnie Deuschle and choral arrangements by Celebration Choir as well as popular traditional Christmas songs.

The performance which will be directed by Rick Derrick features an extravagant light display, Broadway set, shepherds and giant angels.

The dynamic expression of the Christmas story includes people from all walks of life.

Deuschle says this year’s event, which she describes as a must-see, will be bigger and better.

“The musical drama was brought back to the stage last year by public demand and this year’s event is bigger and better. “Christmas Foretold — In search of the King is the must-see Christmas event of the year in Zimbabwe.

“Bring the whole family to the greatest story ever told,” said Deuschle.

According to the popular musician and pastor, this year’s show has a cast that includes radio presenter Tonderai “TK” Katsande from Zi FM, Napoleon Nyathi from Star FM and advertising icon Gary Thompson.

The Christmas Foretold production premiered in December 1992 in the capital at Harare International Conference Centre and has become a favourite of many.
