Oskido, Dr Malinga to rock Harare

HARARE - South Africa-based Zimbabwean house sensation Oscar “Oskido” Mdlongwa and Via Orlando hit-maker Dr Malinga are set to perform in a one-off concert in Harare next month.

Dee Nice, one of the organisers of the event, told the Daily News yesterday that the show by the popular two musicians was meant to set the tone for the New Year.

“All is set for the event and we are more than ready for the big day,” said Dee Nice.

The highly-anticipated show, organised by X-Mo Squad, will be a perfect opportunity for Oskido to demonstrate why he continues to a firm favourite of many in South Africa. The Jezebel hit-maker is currently making waves in South Africa thanks to his song Tsa Mandebele which was named song of the year by Metro FM.

The December 28 concert will mark the return of Dr Malinga to Zimbabwe after his participation in the inaugural Beitbridge International Festival of Arts last month. The Via Orlando singer shared the stage with Iyasa and former Afrika Revenge member Willis Wattafi in the border town.

Oskido and Dr Malinga will perform in Harare eight days after another blockbuster concert by fellow South African artiste Zahara at 7 Arts Theatre in Avondale.

Zahara is returning to Harare to market her latest album Phendula on December 20.

The Loliwe hit-maker, whose real name is Bulelwa Mkutukana, will share stage with superstar Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi and fast-rising afro-soul diva Tariro Ruzvidzo better known as Tariro negitare
