Reggae, dancehall explode at Cresta

HARARE - Zimbabwe's top dancehall and reggae artistes will clash in a high-profile concert set for Cresta Lodge gardens on Saturday.

Dubbed Zimbabwe’s Biggest Reggae/Dancehall Bands festival, the concert will feature Mic Inity, Sniper Storm, Guspy Warrior, King Shaddy, Freeman, Dhadza D, Mannex, Transit Crew, Nadine Brown, Cridden Knights, Cowboys Band, Satisfaction, Don Dodo, Paul Munyati, Judgement Yard, Legendary sounds and Red Fox sounds.

The festival has been made possible by the collaboration of Red Fox Entertainment, Cresta Hotels and SOD Entertainment.

Red Fox marketing manager Tendai Matava told the Daily News yesterday that the weekend gig would be unique in many respects.

In a bid to make the one-day festival a memorable one, all artistes who will perform in the gig will be backed by live bands.

“I can confirm that all artistes will perform with live bands on the day to facilitate a DVD recording of this exciting event,” said Matava.

He added that his entertainment joint was teaming up with other like-minded promoters to further the development of reggae and dancehall in Zimbabwe.

Red Fox, the ceremonial home of dancehall and reggae artistes in Harare, has nurtured top artistes like Mic Inity Nadine “Fire Lady” Brown.

The popular entertainment venue recently hosted a welcome party for dancehall /reggae legend Tony Rebel.
