No recognition yet for Manyuchi

HARARE - African Boxing Union champion Charles Manyuchi has rubbished claims that he received a piece of land for winning the continental title, adding that he is still to get even a handshake for his achievements.

This comes after Zambian media this week claimed that Manyuchi received a plot from Masvingo City Council for his exploits.

Manyuchi belongs to Zambia’s Oriental Quarries stable.

“No one has come to me with such a gesture,” Manyuchi told the Daily News.

“To tell you the truth, I have not even got a handshake for all my efforts in lifting Zimbabwe’s flag high.

“I’m just lucky the Zambians are not jealousy people, because they don’t have a problem with me carrying Zimbabwe’s flag and singing our national anthem everywhere I compete.”
