Slizer, Bev, Zoey square-off tonight

HARARE - Visiting Botswana diva Slizer will tonight join 40 local dance acts during the Dance Mania jamboree set for Harare’s City Sports Bar.

Dancers Association of Zimbabwe official Harpers Mapimhidze said the event is a unique gathering for dancers to showcase their talents.

Mapimhize said so far more than 40 dance groups have shown interest in the event and the list includes Apama Styles, Mageshi, Syndicate Girls, Girls of Peace, Universal Queens, Unique, Explosion, Malaika, Dangerous Scorpion, Cassamoto, Cassablanca, Blood Sisters, Haranga Queens, Four Angels, La Dolce, New Styles, Spice Angels and Charlizie Queens among others.

Beverly Sibanda of Sexy Angels and Zoey Sifelani are also expected to grace the occasion.

“This is going to be a good opportunity for Zoey who hasn’t of late graced such big events and we are expecting her to do what she knows best stage-wise,” said Mapimhidze.

Dance Mania is being promoted by Biggie Chinoperekwei, the City Sports Bar proprietor.

Slizer real name Naledi Kaisara came in the country for the Tongai Moyo commemoration concerts held in Kwekwe, Chinhoyi and Harare.

The mother of two is expected to return to Botswana on November 5.

Slizer hogged the limelight following the release of her album O Tswa Kae which carries the popular track Ke jola le rasta.

Currently she is planning duets with local musicians such as Alick Macheso, Oliver Mtukudzi, Peter Moyo, Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave and Pellagia for gospel songs.

During her previous visits to the country Slizer shared the stage with local musicians including First Farai, Alick Macheso, Tryson Chimbetu and Suluman Chimbetu.

Her strong love for Zimbabwe was evident when she visited Matthew Rusike Children’s Home in Epworth last year and has confessed that Zimbabwe is her second home.

Beverly is certainly a cut above the rest. i watched slizer first at the hare gardens show then last week at jongwe corner i wasnt impressed. i am comparing her to Beverly because their dance styles are similar.
