Mucherahowa tips Dynamos for title

HARARE – Dynamos legend Memory Mucherahowa has tipped his former club to retain their Castle Premiership title for the third straight season following their morale-boosting 1-0 win over rivals Highlanders on Sunday.

DeMbare returned to the summit of the Premiership on 48 points but are tied with Harare City. The Glamour Boys, however, have a superior goal difference.

Mucherahowa has been following his team’s progress from the UK, where he has been living for the past 11 years.

“I can’t even express how happy I am, this is a good win for us and hopefully it’s gonna led us to retain the title,” Mucherahowa told the Daily News.

“The win over Highlanders is not really the end of the Premiership race, but that’s one hand on the title. Dynamos like every other team should fight for each other and for their coach.”

Mucherahowa, who broke into the DeMbare squad as a 17-year-old Mufakose High 1 pupil, also threw his weight behind coach Calisto Pasuwa, who was targeted for criticism when the team was going through a lean spell.

“It seems there are people within who are pulling in a different direction, you can see from the past performance and results and these people are just waiting for the slightest of mistake from the team and then they will pounce on the coach,” said Mucherahowa.

“But to me Pasuwa has done a great job even if he ends without the championship, it won’t be very bad and he deserves another chance next season.

"Pasuwa should believe in himself as he has proved that he is a very good coach. He should brush aside the in-house politics and focus on the remaining fixtures.”

Good going DeMbare .However I some get a bit disturbed to note that every reporter now turns to mr Mucherahowa for comments and analysis. Wake up he is not the only former Dynamos great. It ends up boring we also want to hear from other former greats mhani. Tibatsireiwo. We do not care much where one is based.Thank you
