Goblins must submit to us

EDITOR — I find the story of the staffers who were attacked by goblins at Irisvale resettlement area rather disappointing because it renders the work of Christ futile.

The evidence of God’s power is made manifest when evil is defeated, not when people of God are oppressed by demons to the point of being raped.

Consider this scripture Luke 10:19 “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”

The last part of the scripture says nothing shall by any means harm you, that includes goblins or any manifestation of evil.

People need to understand that in as much as we acknowledge the existence of evil we also ought to acknowledge the authority of God.

The late Chinua Achebe while referring to the forces of evil and good in his book Anthills of the Savannah says and I quote “ the dual forces of nature blend...”

This means both good and evil can control our lives but if we submit to God we are entitled to his protection.

In fact we can defeat the devil and make him submit to us because we would then be the children of light.

This is why the scripture says in John 1, “Light shines and the darkness flees away.”

Do not flee from the devil but rather resist him and he shall flee away.

Every piece of land you set your feet in shall become your possession.

Demonic forces are only as powerful as you make them.

I feel that those who fled from Irisvale did not seek God’s protection and they ran away from the goblins.
