Local companies urged to adopt SYSPRO systems

HARARE - Zimbabwean companies have been urged to adopt SYSPRO products in an effort to run business more smoothly and cost effectively.

SYSPRO, a leading provider of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions boasts over 35 years’ experience in managing sustainable growth and is operational in over 60 countries, across six continents with at least 1 500 channel and support partners

Meryl Malcomess, the SYSPRO’S marketing director, this week said innovation is something organizations can no longer afford not to embrace.

“Innovation is not only what allows you to differentiate your organisation from your competitors but also (and more importantly) it is seeing the valuable contribution innovation can make towards uplifting the economy,” she said.

This comes after most companies operating in Zimbabwe have been failing to compete in regional markets due to a myriad of challenges obtaining in the country such as high production costs, obsolete equipment, and acute liquidity crunch and power outages among others.

The South African-based company recently announced that its brand new SYSPRO Espresso mobile solution is on schedule to coincide with the launch of SYSPRO 7 later this year.

SYSPRO Espresso is a new mobile platform which allows users of the company’s ERP to access their vital business data in any location at any time for device agnostic data collection and transaction processing.

It is one of the first platforms of its kind to use a single source codebase to create native applications for any mobile device, with built-in powerful customisation capabilities for both the end-user and developers to engage.

The application is purpose-built and leverages leading edge HTML5, Microsoft technology and tools to offer the very best functionality. Once released, Espresso applications will be made available from the SYSPRO App store for users to develop and expand the software.

Malcomess noted that the product is aimed at making accessibility to information very simple and affordable to business people globally.

She said her company has over the years established a reputation for providing innovative yet practical solutions to our customers’ business challenges.

“This enables our clients to gain a competitive edge through the effective use of technology and Syspro software,” Malcomess said.

Backed by a dedicated and professional team, SYSPRO provides software solutions and services to thousands of customers within vertical markets ranging from manufacturing and distribution to financial services.

SYSPRO is one of the longest standing independent, international vendors of business software solutions and services.

Although the company does not have an office in Zimbabwe, SYSPRO works with Unified Africa Technologies (Private) Limited and Premia Computer Solutions.

“What SYSPRO does is appoint agents whom we refer to as Value Added Resellers (VARS) in countries instead of opening branches. In this way it helps when any sale is done - a portion of that sales stays behind in the country,” said Mary Githu, SYSPRO business development executive.

“SYSPRO work with the VARS from the beginning to the end and this helps the VARS to be self-sustaining and also empower them in future projects,” she said.
