Nemadire scoops OH's top club award

HARARE – Tangai "Too Bad" Nemadire on Friday night won the Old Hararians Player of the Year award at an end-of-season banquet following a sterling season for the newly-crowned Zimbabwean rugby champions.

The Zimbabwe international was outstanding for the Green Machine since joining from rivals Harare Sports Club at the beginning of the season, helping the Milton Park-based side to its first league title in eight years.

Nemadire, who is comfortable on the wing or at fullback, beat stiff challenge from fullback Lungile Tshuma, who was named Backline Player of the Year, and Tawanda Chowe, who took the Forward of the Year accolade.

Club captain Tichafara Makwanya won the Coach's Award while the Chairman's Award went to Tawanda Fundai.

Former Zimbabwe youth international Maclean Muhambi was chosen Most Promising Player of the Year while wing Patrick Tenesi got the Rookie of the Year award. The Best Under-21 Player accolade went to Takudzwa Chakaingesu.

Meanwhile, Abigail Gondo was chosen Women's Players of the Year.
