Tuku, Charambas date Harare Gardens

HARARE - Zimbabwe's power gospel couple, Pastor Charles and Olivia Charamba will perform at Harare Gardens alongside superstar musician Oliver ‘Tuku’ Mtukudzi in a family concert set up.

With summer upon us, the November 3 concert will sure be a showcase to attend considering that it is meant to be a family concert.

There are few performances that have pitted these two great music acts and such a synergy will excite Zimbabweans and indeed go a long way as both music acts’ songs border on social issues and the right to life.

The Charambas, who lead Fishers of Men are by far the most popular gospel outfit in Zimbabwe today.

And they have been leading the genre’s transformation in recent years with little competition.

A favourite of wholesome families, on a good day Fishers of Men can lift souls and audiences’ tempo to unimagined heights.

Tuku has had no competition for the genre he plays and sharing the stage with the Charambas will not change much in terms of his repertoire for the occasion.

The lanky music star’s songs are too many and in between albums he has also recorded quite a number of gospel-inclined songs.

Fans will be surprised if Tuku decides to go gospel just for this concert.

For those with a short memory, Tuku has a powerful gospel album Rumbidzai Jehova which by its own standard is quite a jam.

The Charambas are very particular who they team up with, but with Tuku they have had no problems sharing the stage.

The Harare Gardens concert will sure live up to its billing and it will be an exciting encounter.
