Shinsoman dazzles MSU fans

GWERU - Rising music star Romeo ‘Shinsoman’ Antony justified his current high standing in Zimbabwe’s reggae
dancehall circles with a spellbinding performance at Midlands State University (MSU) last Friday.

Riding on the fame of his popular song Mawaya-waya, Shinsoman did not disappoint his legion of fans who braved the October sun at the MSU Ground.

The “Dancehall Father” performed at  Midlands’ premier educational institution as a guest of  the HIV /Aids campaign hosted by Say What?, Padare Men’s Forum, Red Cross Society and the Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council.

The HIV /Aids campaign enlightened students on the importance of contraceptives and the on-going male circumcision programme.

The former Dynamos Football Club junior player opened his act with the hit Dancehall Father that triggered a wave of excitement among his enthusiastic fans.

With the young fans singing along when the husky-voiced Shinsoman performed the hit Ndoda and song of the moment Mawaya-waya, the MSU Ground became one big dance floor.

The Ndavachemedza hitmaker left the MSU crowd literally crying for more.

Sindisile Ndhlovu, the organiser of the well-attended event, said Shinsoman was singled out to perform because he is currently the most popular dancehall star among Zimbabwean youths.

“We decided to bring Shinsoman here to entertain you because he represents Winky D, Freeman and all other artistes in the country. He is definitely today’s most popular artiste,” said Ndlovu.

After a slow career start, Shinsoman has dramatically risen to be among the leading lights among the top stars in Zimbabwean dancehall alongside the likes of Winky D, Guspy Warrior, Sniper Storm, Dadza D and Freeman.
