ZPC Kariba, JMC Academy clash

HARARE - Zifa Northern Region Division One log leaders ZPC Kariba will look to consolidate their lead at the top of the table when they take on struggling JMC Academy in Shamva Saturday.

The Kariba-based side are on top of the log with 47 points from 23 games while JMC are second from bottom with 17 points from 24 games.

“There is no room for complacency on our part because JMC are now performing well,” ZPC coach Jostein Mathuthu told the Daily News.

“You know JMC is unpredictable, anything can happen, I told my boys that they must not underrate them. The good part is we are not under pressure going into this match and we will just go and play our game.”

Second-placed Twalumba embark on yet another tricky assignment when they clash with DC Academy at Hellenics.

Last weekend, Twalumba dropped two points when they were held to a one-all draw at home by JMC.

Former Premiership side Gunners will be hoping to maintain their mini-revival when the clash against Banket at Lafarge on Saturday.

Gunners are 13 points behind the log leaders while Rangers are five points above Starbill, the team occupying the relegation cut-off point.
