Kombi drivers, conductors should be considerate

EDITOR — I board kombis on a daily basis to and from work and I must say, besides the fact that they are falling apart or the driver is playing music so loud that you can’t hear yourself think, the worst part are the lies.

I do not understand why they have to lie to passengers about where they are going to.

Personally, and I am sure a few others, dropping off by Copacabana rank or close to it, for example Park Street, helps us get to work earlier, but now kombis will claim they are going to Copacabana and end up stopping and parking at Fourth Street.

This is a huge inconvenience to us passengers and when we ask why they lied they were going to Copacabana, they ignore us and jump off quickly to avoid confrontation.

The crew do not offer a refund, they are completely arrogant and they know we need the transport which is why they do this.

Even the hiking of fares when they feel like it, is equally bad.

This is frustrating because when you have rationed your transport fares for the week and then they surprise you by hiking transport fares.

Please can this issue be addressed, we understand everyone is trying to eke out a living, but ripping off people each and everyday is very unfair.

There is no way we can build the nation this way — people need to be considerate.
