Another tricky tie for Chiefs

BULAWAYO – Bulawayo Chiefs will be out to return to winning ways when they host impressive debutants Technosphere in a Zifa Southern Region Division One Week 24 encounter in Plumtree on Saturday.

Log leaders Chiefs suffered a shock 1-0 loss to army side Bulawayo Jumbos last weekend and saw their lead being reduced to five points by second-placed Black Boots.

The promotion race has entered the home stretch and a host of teams that include Black Boots, Bantu Rovers and New West are well poised to capitalize on another slip up by the Rahman Gumbo-coached Chiefs.

Rovers and New West in particular are enjoying a good run that has established the two sides as the dark horses for the sole promotion ticket from the region.

The chasing pack will have to negotiate their way through some tough opposition though this weekend as almost all of them face tricky opposition.

Black Boots travel to Tsholotsho for a date with sixth-placed Tsholotsho Football Club while Bantu Rovers are away to tricky Mpumalanga in Hwange.

Fourth placed New West will play host to the unpredictable Hwange Under-20 side at Portuguese.

Technosphere are in fifth position with 37 points to their credit and have proved to be a force to reckon in their debut campaign.

Former top flight sides Quelaton and Zimbabwe Saints will face off in the midday tie at Portuguese while basement club Rufaro Rovers will host much improved Bulawayo Jumbos in Hwange.
