Open letter to ZBC

EDITOR — I would like to respond to the ZBC public relations officers’s defence of the national broadcaster’s shortcomings.

He thinks the broadcaster should actually be congratulated for a job well done in covering among other things the constitutional referendum, the president’s inauguration and the just-ended UNWTO conference.

Well, congratulations ZBC for that successful coverage! But alas the fact remains ZBC TV news bulletins are indeed a pain to watch .There are always blips and blunders throughout, characterised by reports
accompanied by wrong footage, poor picture quality, poor sound quality or even outright loss of signal and all this from a national broadcaster during news hour, probably the most-watched programme on the station.

Even the movies are sometimes ill-placed for example a movie for children is placed on adult view time and we are made to watch the same movies over and over again.
