Vimbai to feature in Nokia advert

HARARE - Vivacious Star Gist presenter and Zimbabwe’s former Big Brother representative Vimbai Mutinhiri has landed a Nokia Lumia advertising deal.

Vimbai was chosen along with Nigeria’s Uti Nwachukwu and South Africa’s Lawrence Maleka to feature in commercials marketing the trendy phone.

As a young, fashionable and trendy It Girl on the continent, Vimbai was chosen to highlight the fun and funky aspects of the Nokia Lumia 520 in the 53 second-long advertisement.

Vimbai who rose to fame as a housemate in Big Brother Africa Amplified in 2011 before bursting onto the entertainment scene as the co-host of Star Gist, a daily entertainment news and lifestyle show on Africa Magic Entertainment.

Co- hosting the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) in Lagos, Nigeria with Big Brother host IK Osakioduwa earlier this year further solidified her status as a leading host and TV personality on the continent.

A press statement from Helvetika PR lauded attributes of Vimbai, Uti and Lawrence.

“Three commercials have been released to this effect, featuring the trio of Zimbabwe’s Vimbai Mutinhiri, Nigeria’s Uti Nwachukwu and South Africa’s Lawrence Maleka, all visible figures on the continent in the entertainment sector.

“ In choosing Vimbai, Uti and Lawrence as the faces of its campaign, the brand is once again proving its dedication to satisfying its consumer base, which is predominantly made up of the youth population that looks up to these icons in entertainment,”  added the statement.

Vimbai, who is also a singer and actor, is delighted with the endorsements she continues to get on the continent.
