DStv plot ZPC Kariba upset

HARARE – Fourth-placed DStv Rangers have vowed to halt Northern Region Division One log leaders ZPC Kariba’s title challenge when the two sides meet at Chaminuka Stadium Wednesday afternoon.

Six points separate the two teams with ZPC Kariba sitting on 38 points from 19 games while DStv are on 32 points from the same number of games as the log leaders.

“We have done our preparations we are now ready to face the log leaders and we are looking for a positive result,” Rangers coach Shame Nemasango told the Daily News yesterday.

“The league is a marathon and we need to manage the players not only for this game against ZPC Kariba. We have just got to the halfway mark of the race and the games are getting intense now. So there is need to manage the players, even at training so that we remain focused.

“ZPC Kariba are doing very well and we should be well prepared. I am sure everyone is ready and the players are competing hard for places in the team.”

DStv, who were tipped to win the Premiership ticket at the start of the season, have been blowing hot and cold.

Second-placed Flame Lily will host Commando Bullets at Chikurubi this afternoon.

The Zimbabwe Prison Services outfit is three points behind log leaders. However, Flame Lily have a game in hand.

New boys Mushowani Stars will be hoping to continue with their fine form when they clash with Banket.
