Zim joins FNB Joburg Art Fair

HARARE - Zimbabwe will be among the six non-South African countries that will be represented at this year’s sixth annual FNB Joburg Art Fair.

The Fair, taking place from 27-29 September at the Sandton Convention Centre announced the selection of 32 confirmed galleries, 11 of which are new to the Fair.

A spokesperson for the exhibition said: “For this year’s edition, we have put together a selection of forward-thinking galleries, special projects and developmental programmes, that are sure to create a new and unique visitor experience.

“What’s more, the focus of this year’s Fair is photography, and we have organised a selection of interesting projects dedicated to the medium.

Think exhibitions by iconic photographers such as David Goldblatt, Roger Ballen and Santu Mofokeng.”

The organisers said they have worked hard to widen the international reach of the Fair, while ensuring it is African at its core.

This year the Fair will see more galleries from Africa and Europe participating, with six non-SA countries represented: England, France, Germany, Mozambique, Spain and Zimbabwe.
