Byo Chiefs back to winning ways

BULAWAYO – Southern Region Division One log leaders Bulawayo Chiefs bounced back to winning ways with a 1-0 home victory over Tsholotsho to get their promotion campaign back on track.

The weekend win was sweet revenge for the Rahman Gumbo-led side after they lost to Tsholotsho by a similar score line in the reverse fixture.

It also brought to an end a two-match losing streak for Chiefs who took their points tally to 40 from 18 matches.

Seasoned striker Tedius Mugumanya scored the all-important goal that helped the AmaKhosi maintain their five-point lead over second-placed Black Boots.

The police outfit beat Hwange Juniors 1-0 at Fair Bridge with regular scorer Tashinga Mungadze grabbing the goal that made all the difference. Black Boots are now on 35 points from 18 matches.

ZPC Hwange’s revival continued with a 3-2 away victory over former top flight side Quelaton who are fast losing sight of the log leaders.
