Wits assessing Bhasera

JOHANNESBURG - Wits are assessing former Kaizer Chiefs left-back Onismor Bhasera with a view of adding him to their roster for the new season.

It was reported earlier this week by Soccer-Laduma that the 27-year-old Zimbabwean was in Johannesburg, however at the time the player’s agent, Ralph Nkomo, explained that he was in the country to sort out personal business.

Nkomo said that he was still working on securing an overseas deal for the former Plymouth Argyle defender.

However, Wits’ head coach, Gavin Hunt, has now revealed that Bhasera is training with the Clever Boys squad and that they are assessing him.

“Yes he is here with us and we are looking at him. If all goes well we maybe we’ll bring him in as we need a player on the left. But it will also depend on how many foreigners we have in the team. But yes we are looking at him,” Hunt stated.

Bhasera last played in the PSL for Kaizer Chiefs, between 2007 and 2009, prior to his move to England.
