Lock storm into doubles semis

HARARE - Harris sailed through to the semifinals of the on-going second ITF South Central African Junior Circuit at Harare Sports Club yesterday.

Courtney and Harris outclassed South Africa’s La Grange and Jd Malan 6-0, 6-3.

It was a sweet victory for Lock after he suffered a shock second round defeat to South Africa’s wildcard entry Jordan Calvin in singles on Tuesday.

Lock is hoping to continue with his last week’s fine run in the doubles.

The Zimbabwean was knocked out of the singles semi-finals before booking his place in the double finals were he partnered with Harris to beat the pair of Aziz Dougaz and Guenihl Quattara to win the  doubles title.

In the girl’s category Zimbabwe’s Nicole Dzenga progress to the quarter finals after beating second seed Druthi Tatachar of Mauritius 7-6, (4), 6-0, while Zimbabwe’s Bervely Matsiwe and Karen Muswere bowed out of the tournament.
