Four SA clubs chasing Chitiyo

HARARE - Zimbabwean midfielder Ronald Chitiyo’s name continues to be a subject of interest in several PSL boardrooms following his brilliant showing at the recent Cosafa Castle Cup.

The pint-sized midfielder stood out as the best player for the Warriors during the regional tournament in Zambia, and it was easily noticeable that his talents deserve a platform with a wider audience and better pay than modest Harare club Monomotapa.

KickOff.com is aware of enquiries that have been made by three clubs, while a fourth wants to sign him and then loan him out — an arrangement that Chitiyo’s handlers are not keen on.

Still just 20, Chitiyo trained with Orlando Pirates and Ajax Cape Town last season where he made an impression and was due to be signed before coaching changes froze up the move.

The player’s representative has acknowledged interest and says he is now merely awaiting certain issues to be worked out before a move happens.
