Man shoots wife, kills self

HARARE - A Waterfalls man yesterday committed suicide after he attempted to kill his wife, sister-in-law and brother-in- law.

Josphat Mutizwa arrived home in the early hours of Monday morning, where he woke his wife up to get clarification on rumours that she was being promiscuous.

Family members told the Daily News that an argument arose from 2am, triggering Mutizwa’s anger, leading to him firing shots at his wife and sister-in-law.

It is alleged that Mutizwa shot his wife on the leg, whilst his sister-in-law escaped death by a whisker after being shot at four times.

Mutizwa’s 11-year-old brother in law, who was also present at the time, managed to escape.

Fearing that he had killed them, Mutizwa went into the bathroom and shot himself in the head, killing himself instantly.

Meanwhile, Mutizwa’s wife and sister-in-law were rushed to Parirenyatwa Hospital where they are said to be in stable condition.
