End of the road for Hakeem, as Pokello gets nominated again

HARARE - Sunday proved a black day for Zimbabwe after Big Brother Africa representative Hakeem Mandaza was sent packing from the continent’s most popular reality show.

The eviction of Hakeem means that the country’s hopes are now on resilient Pokello who was again nominated by four housemates on Monday morning.

Hakeem had appeared out of harm’s way after last week’s nomination session in which feisty Zimbabwean socialite Pokello received the highest number of nominations.

However, the hunky Zimbabwean model’s fate was sealed when he was put on the line by Head of House, Melvin during the Save and Replace session so as to rescue fellow Ghanaian Selly.

With Zimbabwe’s representatives both being on the chopping block, Hakeem’s supporters had every reason to fear for the worst.

It was always clear that Pokello would once again nick Zimbabwe’s vote and that Zambia, Hakeem’s previous backers, would vote for his love Cleo.

As expected the big Zimbabwean muscleman failed to muster a single vote while once again Pokello proved to be Africa’s darling with the highest number of four along with South African Angelo.

Hakeem’s exit stirred what appeared to be genuinely emotional scenes in both houses.

Tears and screams echoed in both Houses as the Zimbabwean made an emotional exit from the Big Brother House.

Melvin was inconsolable and found it hard to believe that Africa had failed to save the big Zimbabwean.

"Forgive me father," he kept muttering. But Hakeem tenderly hugged his Nigerian buddy and the rest of the Diamonds before he kissed his girl Cleo goodbye and then joined IK and Fatima on stage.

Over the past few weeks Hakeem had become a regular on the nominations list but managed to scrape through by the skin of his teeth over and over again.

This week had looked to be the Zimbabwean's lucky week.

He managed to win himself the Head of House chieftainship on Friday.

This week was a 7th heaven for him as he got to play the role of a loving husband to his real life lover Cleo as part of the Wedding Task.

At the Task Presentation on Thursday the two had an emotionally charged wedding ceremony that saw the Diamond fellow bring his woman to tears with a sweet serenade.

But on Sunday night his luck finally ran out.

While BBA housemates appeared grief-stricken by Hakeem’s exit, the handsome Zimbabwean’s ouster was greeted with joy by shadowy socialite Wicknell Chivayo.

“You get served what you deserve. Well done again Pokello Baby .Hakeem tough luck as someone from high density suburbs I would have organised a big welcome party for you and buy you a corolla or March or something of your level but when you started talking bad about Pokello I realised how foolish you are,” said the controversial dealer who was once linked to former BBA housemate Maneta Mazanhi.

In characteristic fashion, comedian Carl Joshua joked about Hakeem’s eviction.

“Eish at least Hakeem will make it back just in time to get onto the voter's roll after all,” he bantered.

Ya Navayo you have said it all this Hakeem is foolish how can he say Pokello has nothing to do with him bcz he grew up in the Marokesheni instead of treating Pokello as her sister like we do when we meet in the diaspora someone from Zasmbia is my kith and kin bcz we are close to home as next doors the relationship woll be very strong with my fellow Zambian in the diaspora yes it was a game of money but not to the extend of sidelinung your home sister talking offside like that.
