Forza Bhora finals on this weekend

HARARE – The Season Four finals of the Forza Bhora Italian Club Five-A- Side will be held this weekend at the l Italian Sports Club in Strathaven.

The day will see all the 24 teams drawn from the three leagues A, B and C participating but the major highlight will be the clash between Serie A sides Shufflers and Os Tugas at 6pm.

The league officially ended last week on Tuesday and two days later the top four teams squared off in semifinals fighting for Saturday’s final berth.

Bengaz Stars take on Circolo Italiano in the B League final while Spar entertains Black Gold in the Serie C showdown.

The clash between the two Serie A sides will then lead to the awards presentation ceremony at 7:30pm.

Forza Bhora and Italian Sports Club committee member Anthony Savo said he is looking forward to the finals following an eventful season.

“It was quite an interesting season and it has been very closely contested across the three leagues with all teams causing upsets serve for only one team that was unbeaten throughout the season,” Savo told the Daily News on Wednesday.

“Ours is pretty much a social league where the emphasis is on bringing different cultures together to play football but once you put the points on the board everyone would want to win the league.

“We try to keep the social aspect while at the same time cognisant of the fact that we have to be competitive by virtue of being in a competitive environment.”

The winners will be presented with trophies and medals after the tournament.

The Forza Bhora league is in its fourth year running and this year’s season started in January with eight teams participating in each of the three leagues.
