Tsholotsho upset Chiefs

BULAWAYO - Southern Region division one pacesetters Bulawayo Chiefs suffered their second loss of the season when they went down 1-0 to Tsholotshoon Saturday.

Tsholotsho lived up to their pre-match vow that they would upset the log leaders with dreadlocked midfielder Ocean Ncube grabbing the all-important goal for Iziqholo Zezhwane.

Second-placed Black Boots cut Chiefs’ lead to five points after picking up a point in a 1-1 draw with Hwange Juniors in Hwange.

Chiefs are on 31 points while Black Boots are on 26 with both teams having played 13 games so far this campaign.

Tsholotsho moved a rung up on the log after their weekend victory and now occupy fifth place with 22 points from 13 matches.

Former Premiership outfit Bantu Rovers sit on position six with the same number of points as Lizwe Sweswe’s men.

Rovers beat newcomers Ajax Hotspurs 1-0 on Saturday with the goal coming from former Ajax player Brian Mpala who struck in the first half to condemn his childhood club to their sixth defeat of the season.
