Tuku stars in female programme

HARARE - Top Zimbabwean female musicians will share the stage with superstar Oliver Mtukudzi at the Book Café on Tuesday as part of the Female Literary, Arts and Music Enterprise (Flame) gender programme.

The unique performance will feature mbira star Chiwoniso Maraire, afro-jazz star Dudu Manhenga, Clare Nyakujara, Uza, Rute Mbangwa, Tari neGitare, Diana Samkange, Kessia Magosha, Edith WeUtonga and Fatima Katiji.

While a select group of talented male musicians like Blessing Muparutsa, Jimmy Buzuzi and Stan Magosha are expected to back the female stars, the “cherry factor” of the show will no doubt be Tuku himself.

The legendary Zimbabwean star, who will soon embark on a world tour, will be part of an intimate trio which also includes Sam Mataure on drums and Enoch Piroro on bass. - Entertainment Writer
